Big conservation news. Three big stories. First of all, a new lake has opened up in Somervell County, called Wheeler Branch. This new lake will be perfect for kayaing, fishing, scuba diving, bird watching, and more. The lake has been stocked with smallmouh bass, florida largemouth bass, walleye, and more. Exciting news about this new lake, close to Squaw Creek lake near Glen Rose. Go here for the latest information:

Congratulations to Mike McCorkhill as he won Conervation Man of the Year at this years Southern Councils Awards Banquet. Great job Mike!!
Other news. At the January meeting, each member will receive two litter bags courtesy of the Fort Worth Fly Fishers. We are asking that each of us do our part, by picking up trash each time we go out into the field. Each outing we will go on, time will be allotted to help clean up the area we are enjoying. These bags are easy to haul around, lightweight, bio-degradeable, and will last for a long time. Please take two and use them each time you go out.
Thanks and remember, we can make a difference!!
