There are many events throughout the year that the club participates in to help introduce people to fly fishing. We attend the Trinity River Fly Fest and the annual Athens, Texas Fly Fest. The club is always looking for new members but beyond that, many of our members put on fly tying demonstrations and casting classes.

Conservation has always been an important facet of the club and should be for every fisher. Fort Worth Fly Fishers, as a club, was instrumental in construction of Windmill Lake in the Lyndon B. Johnson National Grasslands. This is the first designated fly fishing only lake in Texas. There are many opportunities to learn about and become more active in conservation issues through the club.
