Meetings As a rule,
Fort Worth Fly Fishers meet on the first
Tuesday of each month
although there are occasional exceptions for holidays and scheduling
for guest speakers so please check the calendar. Meetings start at
7:00pm and are held in room 2-100 of the UNT Health Science Center,
Building 2, 3500 Camp Bowie Blvd. in Fort Worth. Click

We may learn about fishing in our own backyards or in an exotic place such as Chile, Norway or Alaska. These guest speaker programs are one of the main reasons to join the club. Besides the guest speaker programs, there are several annual special meetings. Each regular meeting has a featured fly tyer who arrives early and demonstrates tying a particular fly - but once a year, the entire meeting is devoted to fly tying with demonstration by many accomplished fly tyers as well as contests with prizes. ![]() ![]() Another
annual event is the casting clinic held across Camp Bowie Blvd.
in a large grassy area. There are casting instructors available to
teach novices the basics and to help straighten out a few problems with
the more experienced casters. This is also a great time to try out some
different types of rods. One of the most anticipated
annual meetings is the
club auction. This is the one and only fund raising event of the club.
Items are donated
by club members, and local merchants, and guided trips are donated by
some of the local guides. Although there are some great bargains to be
had, this is how the club pays for the tremendous guest speakers and
special outings.![]() |
